“Ranger Time” – A Program for Preschoolers

March 14, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm UTC+0

“Kinderhook” translates from Old Dutch to English as Children’s Corner. It’s a well-fitting choice as children are the future of our community.
In recognition of this fact, Martin Van Buren National Historic Site has teamed with the Kinderhook Memorial Library to offer our young residents an enjoyable opportunity to learn about their local history.
“Ranger Time” is an hour-long winter activity program for children ages 3-5.
National Park Service rangers will use music, books, games and crafts to introduce topics such as:
 Who is Martin Van Buren? What does the president do?
 Farm life in Kinderhook during the 1800s
 Lindenwald, the President’s beloved home and farm
 What is it like to be a national park ranger?
Each program will build upon the one before, and monthly attendance is suggested. Pre-registration is not required, and adult attendees are encouraged to participate. All programs are free and open to the public. For more information, call Martin Van Buren National Historic Site at 518-758-9689
