Project Canine offers certification, (which includes liability insurance), via our 4-step process.
This workshop is Step 1. In this class certified instructors provide training in animal behavior, safe and humane handling, effective communication, issues related to confidentiality, and best practices for safety in a variety of visit environments. We will also do an initial screening of you and your dog’s readiness to become a therapy dog team.
After completing class, you may be eligible to take an exam and move forward to become a certified therapy dog team with Project Canine. (All participants are given a written evaluation of their readiness to be a therapy dog team after class.)
Project Canine has been certifying therapy dog teams for 11 years and we believe our teams are the most thoroughly prepared when they go out to visit.
The class costs $150 and PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Classes are held at Great Dog in Northgate.
