Art Exhibit: Leslie Barlow, Quiet Enigmas and Familiar Love

March 7, 2019 - April 6, 2019

Leslie Barlow is a visual artist living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  The centering of her grandmothers in this series comes from the desire to connect intergenerational intersections of race and gender, and speak to the complexities of a family’s multiracial relationships. She currently teaches at the University of Minnesota and Juxtaposition Arts, and has a studio in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District. Her work has been featured on PBS’s Minnesota Original television series and highlighted in numerous print and online write-ups including in the Huffington Post and VICE.  Leslie Barlow is a fiscal year 2018 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
