125 Years of Maryland Nursing History: The University of Maryland School of Nursing

Did you know the University of Maryland School of Nursing is 125 years old?  That it has a tie to Florence Nightingale? Learn about the History of the University of Maryland School of Nursing Thursday, March 14, 2019. 7 p.m. Herminia “Hermi” Nudo, MS, BSN ’63 an alumna from the University of Maryland School of Nursing will present the history and stories of the 125-year old school and its connection to the celebrated nurse. Also features information on the UMSON Living History Museum. Laurel Pool Room, 9th & Main Street, Laurel.  Part of the Laurel Historical Society speaker series, and Women’s History Month. Co-Sponsored by the Laurel Historical Society and the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Free and open to the public. Light refreshments. With suggested donation for non-members: $2.

The current exhibit at the Laurel Museum is “Is There a Doctor in the House? Laurel’s Healthcare Stories,” runs through December 22, 2019.
